June 2008-" My First Blog Entry"

Welcome to my first Regional Commissioner’s Blog.  It’s my intention to keep both members and non - members up to date with what’s happening across the region and there is plenty to write about this month. So where do I start?

I am pleased that London has another 18 fully trained Young Spokespersons following the first London Region Training Course held last month.  These young people will now represent Greater London at a series of Scouting and non Scouting events over the coming months and what better ambassadors could we wish for.

July 2008- "I would like to wish all our members a great summer break "

Well, the last month has been as hectic as always and we approach the summer period when a considerable number of our Scout Groups across London will be off on their annual summer camp both here in the UK and overseas. I wish them all a great time, lots of fun, adventure and excitement!

September 2008- "I hope that those of you who went on a residential experience either in the UK or further away, had a great time! "

It has been as busy as ever and we have so much happening in the region between now and Christmas.  I had the pleasure during the Summer of representing the region at the Queens Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. It was a great experience and good to see other members of the movement representing Scouting from around the country.

November 2008- ""Vibrant, Adventurous & Every Bit Relevant to Today's Modern Society" "

The words that can only describe our entry in this year’s - Lord Mayors Parade in London.  I was extremely proud to join the crowds to cheer on Scouting’s entry in this years show.  In the early stages of planning our entry, we decided that we wanted to get across some very simple messages that we are a truly modern, young, vibrant and adventurous organization.  Seventy young people from across the region, proudly wearing their ‘i.Scout’ T.Shirts and Hoodies showed the many thousands of people along the route and millions more at home just how much fun Scouting really is.
