2,500 Scouts and Explorer Scouts descend on London for Winter Camp
Last weekend’s saw the largest ever winter camp taking place in the United Kingdom in the Scout Cou
nty of GLNE with nearly 3,000 Scouts and Explorer Scouts descending on Gilwell Park in Chingford London.
Over 50 different types of activity were on offer from Archery to Zorbing.
Chief Scout Peter Duncan said: ‘Young people today have a larger choice than ever before of activities to fill their spare time with. Winter camp is an ideal opportunity for Scouts to challenging themselves with exciting activities and adventures.
Explorer Scout Nancy Ibrahim from Southgate GLN said: ‘It’s to have a chance to to try out all these activities. I particularly enjoyed Zorbing and Quadbiking.
