2008 Regional Census Figures
It gives me considerable pleasure to advise you that our 2008 census figures for Greater London are now complete and as a result of your hard work in 2007, we have a massive 752 new members enjoying quality Scouting in the capital, that represents an increase of 1.8%. Four out of our six Counties reported an increase in membership with two reporting small decreases.
I want to personally thank every adult in Scouting for their considerable efforts during our very busy Centenary year. As a result, we are now healthier and stronger, offering Scouting to even more of London’s young people. You can all be truly proud of this achievement.
However, you will see from the census analysis below that we still have considerable work to do in the year ahead to ensure that we continue to grow across the Capital. Our Regional Strategy & Development Plan for Greater London is now firmly embedded in the Region and I know that we have the skills, resource and determination to succeed in the year ahead.
Once again, my sincere thanks everyone.
Dean J Milton
